George Stern, Ph. D.

Dr. Stern has 30 years of experience working as a clinical psychologist. He has conducted numerous psychological evaluations to qualify weapons carrying security guards. Dr. Stern has been employed by Kansas Disability Determination Services for 27 years (last 23 years as the chief psychological consult). During that time, he has reviewed thousands of Social Security disability applications. On numerous occasions, the applicants were police and corrections officers. This experience has given Dr. Stern a unique perspective on the psychological conditions that result in the inability to maintain a police or corrections career. He also has worked 13 years as the state psychological consult for vocational rehabilitation services. As part of this position, Dr. Stern frequently assessed psychological qualities that were necessary to pursue a particular career choice.
